"10 Tips for Fundraising During Pandemic"  (April 2020)

TEN TIPS FOR FUNDRAISING NOW & AFP Articles. …April, 2020 (culled from a variety of sources article)

1) Inform your donors, ensure they know what you are doing for the community.
2) Be sure to show the impact of COVID-19 and/or a recession will have on your organization. Will demand for your services increase?
3) Most importantly, let them know how they can help.
4) During recent rescission donors gave, a bit more hesitantly but they gave
5) Your donors will remember you better if you communicate, if they can’t give now they will in the future
6) Reach out to major donors in as personal means as possible, i.e., call, zoom. If you use email make it personal
7) Consider different ways to raise $, such as a GoFundMe page
8) Folks at the top more reserved, low income strained but that leaves a lot of folks in the middle who care deeply about your work…. give them a chance to help.
9) Make sure your supporters, clients; staff and the community know you are still there and still working in everyone’s best interest.
10) Use video , hand-written thank you notes, text, hand-written thank you notes, text updates and phone calls from board members to recognize donors, key prospects and volunteers.
